Peta-Maria and Ihaka Tunui’s wedding flowers for Beachlands , East Auckland Wedding. Peta-Maria came to me wanting wedding flowers for a late autumn wedding in August 2016.
The wedding reception were held at the local Community Hall in Beachlands. The wedding colour palette they were looking for included vibrant orange with white flowers and touches of fresh lavender. The lavender was to be included as it was the groom’s grandmother’s favourite flower.
My Approach was to take her mood boards and ideas and custom design a collection of beautiful wedding flowers with stunning open orange and white roses, spray roses, fragrant freesias, ranunculas and stems of fresh lavender. Her bridal bouquet had a mix of white with a hint of orange flowers while her bridesmaid’s bouquets had orange and white flowers. Keeping with the rustic theme, the hand tied bouquet stems were wrapped in burlap and lace with twine binding.
Hair flowers for the bride included individually wired single flowers and hair combs for the bridesmaids. The cake flowers included a cake topper of vibrant orange , white flowers and fresh lavender.
“I was originally hesitant to order too many fresh flowers for my wedding day as I had heard how expensive it could be. However, when I approached Sandra about doing my bouquets, I was impressed at the reasonable price and quality of her work and decided to get her to do everything: bouquets, corsages, buttonholes, cake flowers and hair pieces.
Sandra was great to work with – explaining different options, making suggestions when I needed guidance and being guided by my vision. I was extremely happy with the final product – the colours were so vibrant and tied all the outfits together perfectly.
I’m so glad I went for fresh flowers as they look great in the photos. I would not hesitate to recommend Harbour Rose Florist to others.”
