Brittany and Arana’s wedding flowers for an outdoor wedding at The Officers Mess, Fort Takapuna,Auckland
I was invited by my florist colleague to help with creating Brittany’s wedding flowers for an outdoor summer wedding on 16th March 2018.
Brittany loved a natural loose, trailing handtied style for her bridal bouquet and chose a soft pastel colour palette of peach and pinks with white.
Our Approach was to take her ideas and custom design a collection of beautiful wedding flowers with trailing green and grey lush foliage, stunning soft pastel coloured flowers with touches of pale blue.
Her trailing bouquet included large soft pink dahlias, hydrangeas, white roses and lisianthus with touches of pale blue tweedia flowers and navy Viburnum berries.
The four bridesmaid’s bouquets had a mix of soft peach, apricot and pink roses, hydrangeas, lisianthus and smaller dahlias. Each bouquet was wrapped with white satin ribbon.
For the outdoor ceremony, we created a stunning corner floral arrangement for the wooden arch. Here we used masses of pink, apricot and peach blooms with grey and green trailing foliage with a few touches of blue to complement the turquoise blue of the bridesmaid’s dresses. The arch perfectly framed the beautiful sea view setting on top of the hill.
Scattered rose petals and hanging mason jars of flowers lined the wedding aisle .
The reception was held in the Mess Hall , and the guest tables were each decorated a pretty posy of flowers in a teardrop glass vase. The vase was placed on a mirror tile with three votive candles and turquoise glass scatters as finishing touches.
The head table’s lush foliage garland ran along the length of the table cascading down at the ends. Dotted along the garland, we placed beautiful soft peach and ivory roses, in water tubes, nested into the green foliage.
“Thank you so much for all your help over the wedding prep! The flowers looked stunning, and completely made the event! I have already passed on your cards to a few my other friends and family, … really appreciate all your time and efforts! “
